I'm a leadership and human development coach. For 16+ years I've helped parents, leaders, and groups navigate change, healing, and growth — deepening their resourcefulness, meeting challenges with more energy and alignment, and making meaningful shifts in life and work.
Based in Austin, TX, where my husband and I are raising our four lively kids, I support clients locally and worldwide.
“Don't [just] ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
I've always been fascinated by how people learn and grow: how we make sense of the world, discover our gifts, and find our path. When hard things happen, how do we deal, heal, and grow from it? What choices and mindsets lead to our freedom, and how can what lights us up serve the world?
These questions about who we are and what we're truly up to especially ring a bell in midlife — one that is harder to ignore, and can also be a wake-up call. That's the season I'm most drawn to: the messy middle of real life. It's where so many people are burning out. It's also where the chance to deepen your connection with life and with who you truly are, and to build a life in alignment with that, is ripe and ready to be explored.
I grew up the child of anthropologists, on college campuses, living in Africa at several stages of my life, and moving through many different kinds of schooling. That upbringing opened me to the world and to the question of what it means to be human. My curiosity has only grown since, especially as a mother and a coach. I keep discovering new pathways of awareness, healing, and growth for myself, my children, my communities, and my clients.
Along the way, I also became a competitive athlete. Long hours of training, on my own and on teams, taught me discipline and a mastery mindset, and competition revealed more of who I am. Those lessons still shape how I work with resilience, mindset, and transformation.
Then, in my mid-20s, everything changed.
My life was meaningful and highly productive: work at a nonprofit, training, volunteering, a full social life. My husband and I ran the Philadelphia Half Marathon together as cross-training. I was in great shape, had trained well, and felt strong until mile two. Then my body crashed. I went from running to shuffling and felt the life force drain out of me. My mental focus carried me through the last 11.1 miles, but my life was different from that day on.
What followed was a profound burnout that lasted two years. At my lowest, I couldn't climb the stairs without help. I was in and out of hospitals and wellness clinics looking for answers. The burnout stopped me in my tracks and made me look honestly at how I was living and working. I could no longer override my body with my mind. I had to step away from the food, people, work, and environments that drained me, and discover what and who truly sustained me.
That difficult season brought an unexpected gift: a real, deep, vital relationship with myself. I learned to listen to my body and my own inner wisdom, to heal, and to trust myself. Better friendships found me, and I began building a life that felt whole and generative instead of draining. For more than 20 years since, I've designed my everyday life around what aligns with me and fuels me. I've also helped the people around me unapologetically do the same.
Motherhood was a sign of my returning health. It has also been my most humbling and constant teacher for over 15 years. Raising four lively kids, including twins, has kept me rooted in the present, shown me my blind spots, and has required and inspired me to keep evolving and resourcing myself in the messiness of life. My husband and I have shared a bicultural marriage for more than 20 years. It's been a relational and cultural learning lab for both of us as we've raised our family in California and Texas, with summers in Sweden and Europe.
For over 16 years in private practice, I've brought my heart and soul to coaching: my education, resources, and everything life has taught me. I've been good company and wise counsel to clients through hard transitions and reinventions, illness and healing, career changes and relationship evolutions — and, most importantly, each client's relationship with themselves and what truly sets them free. I offer a safe harbor for adults, one-on-one and in groups, who need space to truly hear themselves and recalibrate from a deep and wise place — to be able to meet whatever life is bringing in the moment, and deepen the well of resource over time.
Often it's the disruptions, like a job loss, a new baby, a relationship ending, or a burnout, that open a clear window into more of who we are and how resourced and creative we can be. That's how it was for me, and it still is. And I'm here to meet you in the middle of life, too.
